Ohio Air National Guard Solar Project

Ohio Air National Guard Uses Alternative Energy

The 186th Fighter Squadron is based at the O.A.N.G. in Swanton, Ohio. In an effort to combat dependence on fossil fuels, they recently devised an energy plan to utilize solar power that will ultimately power the entire base. This 20 million dollar project consists of rows of solar panels affixed to slip-formed concrete pads that when finished, will cover almost 4 acres. NCS is proud to be a part of this 5-year project as the concrete pad contractor. NCS is building 1 foot wide, 6” thick runners with 2 continuous #3 rebar. Each set of runners consists of 2 pads 560 feet long.
