St. Mary’s Track Improvements

NCS performed concrete work for the athletic fields at the new St. Mary’s High School in Auglaize County. The project encompassed a new football field, locker rooms, and synthetic turf running track. NCS performed a variety of items, but one was particularly interesting. NCS poured an in-place curb with a trench drain system around the inside of the track. The curb was 15” tall by 15” wide and included a 6” wide by 8” deep drain. What made the task difficult was the exacting standards that Ohio High School Athletic Association demands for certification. Through some practical engineering of formwork, and careful double and triple checking of every detail by the crew, this final result proved to be nothing short of exceptional.

Representatives of the school and project management team remarked that they had never seen a straighter more fluid curb around a running track, especially considering the time-frame it was delivered in.
