Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery

Rittman, Ohio

The Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, D.C. hired Veterans Contracting, Inc. as the construction manager to oversee the complete removal and replacement of pavement at this public cemetery.

The project included:

- 107,000 sq. ft. of reinforced concrete walkways
- 22,500 linear feet of rolled curbs
- 2,500 linear feet of 4” rolled landscape curbs along walks
- Additional work including curb & gutter, free-standing curbs, stairs, footings, walls, pipe bollard installation, domes, concrete pads, sawing, sealant, and caulking

Valor Square – Block I Independence Headquarters

Brecksville, Ohio

The project owner, VA Vesta II LLC, hired Independence Construction as construction manager for this commercial site. Newcomer Concrete Services, Inc. was contracted to handle all colored sidewalks, curbs, ADA ramps, and pavement.

The scope included:

- 31,000 sq. ft. of 4” colored sidewalks with mesh reinforcement and decorative sawcutting in 4% Onyx color
- 10,200 sq. ft. of 8” pavement and aprons with mesh reinforcement
- 12,400 sq. ft. of pedestrian paver base (4” and 8”)
- 1,100 linear feet of 6” x 14” planter curbs in 1% slate color
- 3,050 linear feet of 6” x 18” curb in 1% slate color
